June Altenew Release – Graceful Seahorse

The June release from Altenew is finally available and I absolutely love everything! I am so excited to share my first card featuring several new ocean themed products including the new Graceful Seahorse Die.

Altenew Products Used:

To start my card, I used the largest die from the Ocean Windows Die Set and I created a stencil with it from an A2 panel of white card stock.  Next, I used my paper stencil to ink-blend a watery space onto the left side of a horizontal white A2 panel to represent the setting for my seahorse.  I used dark green and gold inks in a gradient effect to contrast with my seahorse.

Next up, die cutting…

I die cut my seahorse from white cardstock and ink-blended it using the Golden Sunset collection of Fresh Dye Inks.  I wanted a gold and orange seahorse to pop against my green background.  I then used the Beneath the Blue Zero Waste Die to cut out rocks and kelp for my scene from cardstock along with the seaweed die included in the Graceful Seahorse set.  Once everything was cut it was time to assemble my scene.

Using one of the stamps included in the set, I stamped seaweed in the background in black ink before arranging my die cut elements.   I adhered everything with both thick and thin foam tape for added dimension and once, everything was glued down I stamped my sentiment as shown.

Thank you so much for reading this post and make sure to check out the new release!

  1. Great idea to make your own stencil with the die! Love the green/gold for the water. Looks very realistic-not all water is blue!
I adore the seahorse. The sentiments included with this release are perfect for so many occasions.

I love your creation of the seahorse on this card. Bright and wonderful colors bring it to life. I love your style and will be following your blog for more ideas.

I am mesmerised by this design, I think it’s the off-center arrangement which my brain struggles to conceptualise on it’s own, this is stunning.

  4. Gorgeous seahorse! I too am mesmerized by your card design with the ink blending and the layers. So beautiful!

  5. Terrific card–thanks for showcasing the mini-delight–these little stamp and die sets are terrific for cards!
