Hello everyone! I am so excited to share a pretty fall card made using products from the new Altenew September release. There are so many wonderful new products available this month, and today I am featuring the beautiful new Craft-A-Flower: Marigold Layering Die Set.
I love creating dimensional flowers, and these Marigolds are absolutely gorgeous! I paired the warm orange blooms with lots of rich green foliage and a simple Kraft embossed background for a warm and cozy fall look.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS
To begin my card, I first die-cut all of the flower layers from the Craft-A-Flower: Marigold Layering Die Set using 80lb white cardstock.For my blooms, I pulled out the Warm and Cozy Fresh Dye Ink Collection. I love all of the beautiful oranges in this collection, and they are just perfect for Marigolds! I ink-blended each of the layers, concentrating the darker colors toward the centers of the flowers to create additional depth and contrast. Once all of my flower pieces were ink-blended, I moved on to my leaves. I wanted lots of greenery surrounding my flowers, so in addition to the leaves included with the Marigold Layering Die Set, I added several of the leaf die-cuts from the new Mini Delight: Woodland Wisdom set.
I ink-blended all of my foliage using the Whispering Woodland Fresh Dye Ink Collection. The deeper, slightly muted greens in this collection work so well with the bright oranges of the flowers and really help give the card that rich fall feel.
Now for assembly…
Before assembling my flowers, I used my pick-up tool to gently curl the edges of the petals. I do this quite often with my floral die-cuts, and I love how such a simple step gives the petals so much more movement and dimension.
I then assembled each Marigold, following the layering guide to line up all of the individual pieces. To create even more dimension, I added small pieces of foam tape between some of the flower layers. This really pops up the centers and allows the petals to separate just enough to make the finished blooms feel much fuller.
For my background, I wanted something fairly simple so that all of those beautiful orange flowers would really stand out. I cut a panel from Kraft cardstock and embossed it using the Cozy Spaces 3D Embossing Folder. I really love the combination of the Kraft cardstock with all of that embossed texture. It creates such a warm, neutral background and works perfectly with the oranges and greens without competing with the flowers.
To finish everything off, I arranged my Marigolds over the embossed panel and tucked the different leaves around the flowers, mixing the foliage from both the Marigold Layering Die Set and Woodland Wisdom together to create a fuller arrangement. I adhered the flowers and leaves at different heights using a combination of liquid adhesive and foam tape, making sure to leave some of the curled edges free for even more dimension.
I really love how this card came out! The oranges from the Warm and Cozy inks are so pretty against the Kraft background, and all of the extra greenery really helps those beautiful Marigolds pop. I hope you like it too! Thanks for reading!
