Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a Halloween inspired card featuring the Brilliant Beetles dies from Memory Box.

Background:
To start my background, I cut a white A2 panel from 80lb cardstock. Using masking tape, I taped off each side ½” from the edge. Next, using my inks from the Altenew Sugar Plum collection of Fresh Dye Inks, I ink-blended the inside of my taped off panel starting with the lightest color on the inside and moving to the darkest plum on all of the edges. To finish things off, I also added some splatter using my black watercolor.
Beetles:
Before starting on my beetles, I decided to make some sparkly paper using Distress Mica Stain Sprays and colored cardstock. I randomly sprayed purple, black, and green cardstocks from my stash using the Distress colors listed below:
Once my sparkly paper was dry, used the different patterns on each paper to die cut my beetle bodies before assembling them according to the directions on the back of the packaging.
Magnolia Leaf Branch:
I cut two branches and accompanying leaves from the Magnolia Leaf Branch Die from gray cardstock. Then using Distress Oxide Black Soot and my Plum die inks, I ink blended the branches and leaves before finishing everything off with more black splatter.
Final Assembly:
I cut my ink-blended panel down 1/16” per side and mounted it on a A2-sized black panel. Next, I heat embossed a “Just a Note” sentiment from the Sunshine and Wildflowers stamp set in white before arranged my branches onto the card panel. Once my branches were arranged and glued, I trimmed off my ends before attaching my beetles using thick and thin foam tape. The final step was to glue the finished panel to an folding A2 white card-base.

My pretty and a little haunting beetle card is complete. Thank you for reading!
