Hello Crafty Friends!  I am so excited to share two new cards featuring the new stamp collaboration from Josh Griffiths Studio and Spellbinders.  My two cards feature stamps from the three stamps sets listed below all from the new Storybook Illustrations Collection.

  • Wild Friends Clear Stamp Set
  • Into the Wild Clear Stamp Set
  • Words for the Wild Clear Stamp Set

These wonderful new sets contain so many images allowing you to make your own sweet scenes.

For my first card, I featured the large bear and one of the bunny images from the Wild Friends set and I created a mountain scene for these cute critters using multiple images from the Into the Wilds set.

To start, I cut a panel from OLO Blending Cardstock 4.5” x 6.”  The bear image and the sentiment I chose from the Words for the Wild set were both fairly large images so I needed a larger panel to make sure all of my images were featured.   Next, I stamped my images onto masking paper and fussy cut them out.   Starting with the fussy cut images allows me to easily move the pictures around on my paper to properly design my scene.  Once my scene was arranged, I got to work stamping.

I stamped slowly and carefully, starting with my foreground images, applying my masks, and then stamping my background images.   Leaving all my masks on, I then taped out a ½” border around the panel using masking tape before ink blending an early evening sky using dye inks.  I specifically used Ocean Waves and Dusk Fresh Dye Inks from Altenew for a nice creamy blend.   I then removed the masks from all of my stamped images, leaving my border intact, so I could start to work on my grass and mountains, before removing the mask border and coloring the critters.  I exclusively use Copic markers for all my alcohol ink cards, and I will also enhance my shadows with Prismacolor, colored pencils.

Once everything was complete, I cut a 1/8” border around my panel, matted it to a 4.5” x 6” Raven Black card panel, stamped a cute sentiment using Versafine Claire Nocturne Ink, before attaching it to a folding white card base.

I was so happy with how this card turned out I could not wait to start another.

For the second card, I went with a slimline.   I needed more room to show as many of these wonderful critters as possible.   My process for this card was basically the same as the first.   The OLO card panel is 3 3/8” x 8 3/8” with a 3.5” x 8.5” Raven black mat, and a white card base measuring 3.75” x 8.75” when folded.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog.  Don’t forget the head to Spellbinders and check out these wonderful stamps.
