Memory Box Happy Mouse

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card featuring the adorable new Happy Mouse and Decorative Ornament dies from the latest Joyful Season release.

Products Used:

Background:

For this card, I wanted to showcase a little window scene for my Happy Mouse who is helping to decorate the Christmas tree.  To start, I cut down an A2 panel of green plaid pattern paper as my base.   Next, I cut two white rectangle frames using the 3rd and 4th largest dies from the Heritage Rectangle Frames set as well as cutting a 3” x 4” white panel to fill the inside of the frame as shown.

Happy Mouse:

To make my mouse, I used an ivory-colored cardstock to cut the lighter parts of the mouse’s body and a fawn-colored cardstock for the main body parts.  Using Distressed Oxide Saltwater Taffy ink, I colored my mouse’s ears, nose, and tail and I used a black Copic marker for the eyes before assembling as shown on the back of the packaging. I also gave him a dark green scarf to match my pattern paper and greenery.

Next, I worked on die-cutting my ornament and greenery.  I selected a pink cardstock from my stash to match the color of the mouse’s ears and tail and also used the same pink to die-cut my pine berries.   I finished the decorative elements of my ornament using brushed gold cardstock from my stash before cutting  my greenery for  both the Pine Berry Branch Dies and the Pine Needles and Cones Dies from dark green cardstock,  To define the branch portion of the Pine Berry Branch, I masked off the needles and ink-blended the branch using Distressed Oxide Ground Espresso.

Final Assembly:

To create my scene, I first glued my white panel onto my pattern paper directly in the center.  Next, I stacked my two white frames and glued them to the white panel leaving unglued space in the upper right corner to tuck under my pine needles before gluing them. I then adhered my Pine Berry Branch along the top before carefully arranging and adhering my mouse and ornament with foam tape. I even slightly bent my mouse’s arm so he could be seen holding the ornament.

To finish everything off, I added a black Christmas sentiment tab before gluing my completed panel to a white, folding, A2-sized card-base.

Now I have one more adorable Christmas card for my stash!
