I am back featuring another two cards made using the La La Land Crafts September Kit of the Month, This month’s set is so adorable and comes with so many images and coordinating dies to create a variety of options.
CARD 1 – I’ve GOAT Your Back
For my first card, I am featuring Marci in her field gathering flowers with her pet goat. I started the card by first stamping out my Marci image on both white cardstock and onto pattern paper selected from the Spring has Sprung Paper Pack. I used the pattern paper to create Marci’s floral country dress through paper piecing. After coloring both images using the colors noted below, and fussy cutting out my pieces, I got to work on the background.
Copic Colors
- Marci : E000, E00, E21, E11, E13, E34
- Hair: YR23, Y26, Y21, Y11
- Eyes: B34 and white gel pen
- Mouth R22
- Dress: N0, N1, N2
- Shoes, B34, B32, W4, W3
- Cheeks: Prismacolor Pencil PC928
- Goat: W4, W3, W2, W1 , W0
- Horns: E43, E42, E41
- Nose: W7, W5
- Hooves: 47
- Mouth: R56
To create the background, I started by ink blending the sky in Distress Oxide inks and then ink blending grass using the Grass Border Die. Next, I cut and ink blended two die-cuts using the wood table die from the kit to create a wooden fence and then used the barrel die set, also from the kit, to create a basket for Marci’s flowers. I went back to my Spring has Sprung Paper Pack and fussy cut several flower images from the pattern paper to use to fill Marci’s basket.
Once done with all of my pieces, I set up my scene using both glue and foam tape for dimension, and I finished everything up with the “I’ve GOAT Your Back” sentiment cut using the Scalloped Sentiment Labels die set.
CARD 2 – What’s Gnawing at You
For my second card I knew I wanted to make a slimline card featuring each of the three goat images included in the kit. I started by using my paper trimmer to cut a slimeline card base (8″ x 3″) and then selected one of the dies from the Double Stitched Squares Die set to cut three windows in my card base to feature my goats.
I then stamped out each goat and colored them using the Copic colors listed below.
- Leaping Goat: W4, W3, W2, W1, W0
- Horns: E43, E42, E41
- Nose: W7, W5
- Mouth: R56
- Hooves: W7
- Goat with Hair: E39, E37, E33, E31, E30
- Horns: E43, E42, E41
- Nose: W7, W5
- Hooves: W7
- Goat with Socks: E55, E53, E51, E50
- Horns: E43, E42, E41
- Nose: W7, W5
- Hooves: W7
- Sock: R24, R22, R21
Once I colored and fussy cut each image, I then die cut props using the dies from the kit. I first selected the rubber tire and the wagon wheel, both colored with Distress Oxide inks. Next, I chose to use the shirt and skirt dies, which I cut from pattern paper, again using the Spring has Sprung Paper Pack. For the background I ink-blended a sunset sky using Distress Oxide Inks and cut some grass using the Grass Border Die. I trimmed down my grass border using scissors so just little blades peeked out of my windows.
Once everything was cut and colored, I assembled my scene using both glue and foam tape against a larger green cardstock mat and finished things off with a stamped, “What’s Gnawing at You” sentiment from the kit onto a die cut from the Scalloped Sentiment Labels Set.
I just think this card is the cutest!
