LA LA LAND CRAFTs September kit of the month

Today I am posting two cards to celebrate the September Release of the La-La Land Crafts Kit of the Month. This kit is just packed full of wonderful products including four rubber image stamps, numerous accompanying dies, and multiple goat-themes stamp sentiments. List below are the details for each of my two cards.

CARD 1

It is laundry day for Marci out in the country. My first card features a colored image using the Marci and Goat stamp set within a scene created using the clothesline and related clothing dies along with the wood basket die set, all of which are included in kit.

I started this piece by first stamping out Marci and her Goat onto white cardstock. I then stamped a second Marci and Goat image onto patterned paper selected from the Spring has Sprung Paper Pack. I added shadows to the stamped image of the dress, as well as additional clothing pieces I die cut from pattern paper for the scene, using the gray Copic colors listed below and then fussy cut the dress to use for later paper piecing after Copic-coloring the rest of my main stamped image. All colors used are listed below.

Marci: E000-E00-E21-E11-E13, Hair: E49-E59-E57-E55, Eyes: BG000 and white gel pen, Mouth: R22, Shoes:G12-G21-E55, Dress, Shirt, Skirt, Pants: N0-N1-N2

Goat: E39-E37-E33-E31-E30, Horns: E43-E42-E41. Nose: W7-W5, Hooves: W7, Mouth: R56

After fussy cutting my colored Marci and Goat image and gluing on my pattern paper dress it was time to create the scene. I first started by creating a cloudy background using the clouds from the Summer is Here Layering Stencil and Distress Oxide ink. I later cut grass using the Grass Border Die from white card stock and then clothing die cuts using paper from the At the Carnival Paper Pack and the dies from the kit. I completed die cutting my basket pieces and the clothesline, I colored everything by ink blending with Distress Oxide inks. Next up, assembly.

I love to use both thick and thin foam squares when assembling my scene to create depth and dimension. For this card, I finished everything off with a “You GOAT This!” sentiment, included in the kit, stamped onto white card stock and cut out with a paper trimmer. I am just so pleased with how cute this card turned out!

CARD 2

The goats got out of the yard and are frolicking in the field! For my second card I am featuring each of the three individual goat stamps included in the kit within a cute and playful scene.

I started by stamping each of the goats onto white white cardstock and coloring them using the Copic colors listed below.

Leaping Goat: E39-E37-E33-E31-E30, Horns: E43-E42-E41, Hooves: W7, Nose: W7-W5, Mouth: R56

Goat with Hair: E57-E55-E53-E51-E50, Horns: E43-E42-E41, Hooves: W7, Nose: W7-W5

Goat with Sock: W4-W3-W2_W1-W0, Horns: E43-E42-E41, Hooves: W7, Nose: W7-W5, Sock, B97-B95-B93-B91

After fussy cutting out each stamped image I got to work creating the scene. I again used my Summer is Here Layering Stencil to create a cloudy backdrop followed by the Grass Border Die ink-blended with Distress Oxide inks. This time, however, I used the backyard props included in the kit to finish things off. I created a fence-line for my leaping goat, an old tin can for my goat with hair, and my little goat with the sock is crawling out of an old rubber tire. I finished everything off with a background mat using paper from the Spring has Sprung Paper Pack and a sentiment stamped onto one of the Scalloped Sentiment Labels found here,
