Memory Box – Meet Milo Mouse

Hello everyone! I am so excited to share a super cute card featuring the Milo Mouse dies and Garden Pail Bouquet Dies from the new July release.

Background:

For this card I decided to keep my background basic so that Milo and the bundle of flowers behind him were the stars.   Using 110lb white cardstock, I first started by cutting a frame using the second and third largest dies from the Heritage Rectangle Frames die set nested together.  I cut two frames and stacked them on top of each other for added dimension.   Next, I cut a panel of cream Woodgrain Paper 3.5” x 4.75” and lightly ink-blended the edges using the leftover brown ink from a blending brush too help add depth to my finished card.   I glued my Woodgrain panel to my stacked frame and then mounted both to a white A2 folding card-base and got to work on Milo.

Milo Mouse:

I die-cut all of the body elements for my mouse from OLO Blending Cardstock.   This cardstock is the best I have found when using alcohol markers. I also die cut Milo’s overalls from blue cardstock pulled from the Lagoon paper pack.  Next I got to work coloring all of my mouse pieces using the following Copic marker blends:

  • Ears, Nose, and Tail: R02, R01, R00
  • Eyes: 100 and white gel pen
  • Darker Body: E44, E43, E42, E41
  • Lighter Body: E42, E41, E40

For the overalls, I enhanced the cardstock with a little Copic B93 and once everything was colored I glued everything together per the guide on the back of the packaging.

Please note:  Milo comes with the CUTEST hat.  I had to leave it off the design this time, but I will definitely be using it in the future!

Floral Spray:

I die cut all of the floral elements from the new Garden Pail Bouquet die set from 80lb white cardstock.  Next, using Altenew inks from my stash, I ink-blended all of my florals in shades of red, orange, and yellow, and light and dark greens for my leaves. I then assembled all of the blooms using a little thin foam tape for dimension.

Assembly:

I carefully arranged my floral spray as shown and assembled it using both thick and thin foam tape and glue.  Once complete, I attached Milo with thick foam tape and then finished everything off with a Cheery Hello sentiment die cut from a shimmery leaf green cardstock from my stash.  This card is complete and as cute as can be!
