SIMON SAYS STAMP BIRTHDAY DRAGONS

Hello everyone! It’s Samantha here, so excited to share a birthday card featuring adorable new products from the new Simon Says Stamp Moments in Time release.

CARD INSTRUCTIONS

I love a good slimline and there were so many adorable images from the new Birthday Dragons stamp set I needed the space to show them off.  To begin this card, I stamped all of the images for my design onto Gina K Masking Magic masking paper and then fussy cut each image.  Cutting my masks first helps me to more easily arrange my design.

Next, I cut a 3.25” x 8.25” panel from X-Press It Cardstock to use for my main card panel.  A high-quality blending cardstock is essential to get great results with alcohol markers.

After arranging my design using my masks, I carefully stamped each image, making sure to stamp the foreground images first, applying a mask, and then stamping the background images.   Once all of my images were stamped, and masks applied, I then used my Distress Oxides to ink blend my panel in a gradient moving from Twisted Citron at the bottom, Squeezed Lemonade in the middle, and Dried Marigold at the top.   Next, I took some white acrylic paint mixed with a little water and splattered festive confetti over the design.

Once dry, time to move onto coloring…

I removed all of my masks, and using my Copic markers I colored the scene using greens, oranges, and yellows, to match my background and also adding in a bit of aqua. Once my scene was complete, it was time to add the sentiment.

I just love this new Giggle Happy Birthday Die.  I die cut the sentiment from orange shimmer cardstock and then I cut a few more layers and a few shadow layers from white cardstock to stack up for added dimension.

Once the sentiment was adhered, I then added my panel to a slimline card-base measuring 2.5” x 8.5” when folded and my cute card was complete.

Now I have another birthday card to add to the stash.

Thanks for reading!
